What 2020 has taught us

Hey everyone! 2020 is about to end and I feel like it's the best time to reflect on the things that happened, what I've accomplished and the lessons to carry on the next coming year. Well, first of all, thank you for your time visiting this site. I truly appreciate you. The year started so well, it was January when I celebrated my 27th year here on earth. I felt loved and has the drive to finally change things and pursue my dreams. As you see on my bio, I am on a journey to be better and I created this site thinking this could be one way to express myself and grow. I hope to find my true purpose and live for the reason why I'm here. But I'm going to share more about that on another blog. So for now here are my realizations.

2020: the year the future was canceled.

1. Tomorrow is always uncertain.

We will never see things coming. The world has stopped because of worldwide lockdowns due to the virus spreading. It felt like Mother Earth has finally said,” I'm gonna be resting, and so do you. Those months of staying home, people realized that in a single snap everything can change. Summer vacations, plans, and events were canceled and people were forced to social distance. Dreams were "on hold". Who would've thought about something like that could happen? Nobody. Be present, you'll never know what tomorrow brings.

2. We are a tiny vulnerable creature

It's crazy how a virus controlled how we live for months. We were reminded that in this life, in this universe, we are like tiny dust that is vulnerable. We were taught to submit and listen. Taught us to be aware of everything that we touch, and on anything that we have contact with. We washed, rinsed, or sanitized more often. It's like the enemy is us. Oh but don't forget to wear the "face-mask", the thing that "protects us" from the invisible and sadly covered our smiles, the universal language.

3. Realized what truly matters

Time is very limited and our energy as well. Be sure to spend them wisely, and only on the things or people that add value to your life. We have to live in the present moment because that's the only thing we have. While the pandemic brought so many challenges it also gave us chances to see and reveal our true selves and others. as what they always say you can see the measure of someone through trials and I think that's one of the best things.

4. Be Grateful

Many of us wished that 2020 could've been the year we will get things that we wanted. Is it the latest iPhone? high-end sneakers? or a trip to the Maldives? Well, this year taught us to appreciate everything we have instead. Never take things for granted. Appreciate more of the little things that we have already.

5. Accept what cannot change.

Focus on the things that you can control. We always plan things ahead of us and we wanted things to be organized. But life doesn't always go the way we planned them. Have the courage to let go of what cannot change because the past is gone and we can only accept and move forward. In that way, it will hurt less.

6. Self-care is a must

This includes well being of the body, mind, and soul. The pandemic made us stressed, anxious, depressed, and lonely. Our day-to-day lives are filled with negativity and looking after yourself is one of the most important tool to have a positive outlook in life. But sometimes we don't take enough time for it or we feel like we don't have it. When you take care of yourself you will be able to help others. Check on your family and friends too. Depression has no face, and always, always be kind towards others.

To conclude this..

2020 isn't the best year, but not the worst year either.

We all have faced challenges, we have adapted, and we have overcome them. It forced us to grow and taught us to be out in our comfort zones. We lost things but we gained so much more. We became more resilient and it gave us a chance to be creative. It's time to move on and enjoy those simple pleasures of life but don't let the lessons go in vain. Let's keep our hope, hold on to it, and never give up. Most importantly, humble our hearts with gratitude to our Creator.

How "Cell"phone overusing is disconnecting us?                                               (c) photo by @wissemnasraou i at the National Museum           Mobile Phone is one of the great things a man has invented. It is used for a variety of purposes. One to keep in touch with friends and loved ones no matter where you are, second to have access in the event of an emergency, third it can be for business or personal use and of course mobile phones are used to surf the internet, listen to music and capture those precious moments. For instance, you can connect to your friend on the other side of the world even without electricity. It is maybe the main reason why someone chooses to own a phone. Overall, phones became a convenient means of communication.  However, we are living in a fast-moving world where it is impossible to imagine our everyday life without a phone.
